Overview

Under limited supervision, the Lead Electrician leads work teams, in testing, calibration, modification, maintenance, repair and servicing of electrical and fire life safety infrastructure and facility support equipment. Installing electrical devices, wiring, and systems. Monitors and maintains safe operating condition of all electrical systems and related equipment. This job class requires knowledge of federal and state codes, laws and regulations regarding electrical and fire life safety installation, repair, and maintenance.

Role Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements: EPA Certification, R410A Safety.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of Energy Management Controls Systems.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of field experience servicing HVAC equipment.
  • Able to use industry hand and machine tools (i.e. vacuum pumps).
  • Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, schematics and written instructions.
  • Proficient in electrical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • Interface with customers to maintain a positive working relationship;
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work safely and understand all safety requirements and company policy.
  • Ability to travel to various facilities.
  • Must be able to meet eligibility requirements for work assignment on the specified contract(s).
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state they reside, have a satisfactory driving record, and be insurable under the corporate policy.

Physical Requirements:

May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. May work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change. May require working early morning, mid-morning, afternoon, and/or evening hours and weekends and holidays.

While performing this job's duties, the team member is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, sit (to drive) and lift up to 50 pounds. Will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
